Day 52 - Saturday nights alright for cooking

Started the day off with the touring party and it was less chaotic than the week before, which was nice. We bumped out the party pretty quickly and then awaited a larger lunch reservation a la carte. With Francesco, Carlo, and I on the hot line, we did pretty well with getting dishes out efficiently.

After a nice siesta it was back for dinner, where we were busy!!! So nice! We worked out all the orders and then moved on to desserts and then waited and waited and waited until the diners left so that we could take out the trash and head home.

With Vito as head server today, we started in on a shift drink of red wine. We all headed out to go home and of course were sidetracked by the nearest bar that just re-opened, Bar Duomo. Being the good kid I am, I abstained from imbibing because I wanted to catch the last bus home. However, Bonnie, Vito’s wonderful fiance invited me to stay at their home if I want to indulge a bit. So the gin & lemon soda’s started to flowing. We heard this hilarious and sort of awful song called ‘Barbara Streisand by DJ Duc’ just listen to it, pretty hilarious.

Thank you to Vito Palo and Bonnie for their hospitality and the water in the morning!
